Numerous research studies have determined:

  • Spirituality plays a significant role in child social, emotional, and cognitive development. Kids with an intense spirituality overall have greater grit, higher grades, more optimism, and persistence than kids without a strong sense of spirituality.

  • Teenagers who say they have a strong sense of spirituality are 80% less likely than the norm to have unprotected or dangerous sex, and 40% less likely to use drugs.

  • Personal spirituality that includes a direct personal relationship with nature, a universal presence or higher power (by any name) has a clear correlation with physical wellness and recovery from depression and disease; indeed, greater spiritual awareness produces the same readings in brain scans as recovery due to medication.

  • Spirituality can be a predictor in reduced risk of suicide, even among religiously and ethnically diverse youth. (Source)

  • Wouldn't it be plausible that if that one adult gifted an intention stick to that child, this truism could be even more impactful even after that adult is not around? Would it be a forever connection to that child?

We extend the impact.

  • Giving children a tool they need to grow up living a life of purpose

  • Transforming communities through the power of positive intention

  • Working with select relief agencies

  • Incorporating the Intention Stick into programming with measurable outcomes

The Tree of Life Movement Foundation is involved in non-profit charitable work to make a positive difference in the lives of children around the world by working with select relief agencies to expand the impact of their work.

The Foundation, through it's work with educational institutions, professionals and relief agencies (both faith-based and NGO), works to actively promote positive childhood experiences that contribute to healthy development and well-being, as well as preventing or mitigating the effects of adverse childhood experiences and other negative social determinants.

We transform Children.

The programming we deliver through our agency partners is designed to transform children's lives across the United States and abroad, from all walks of life, from all religions, and all backgrounds. Our core concept is that we are all one, and we all have access to a universal consciousness — what many call the Creator. We believe that children can be cut off from that consciousness, and the Intention Stick can help reconnect them.

By placing up to three of the 22 words of Intention into the Intention Stick, we activate the power of human intention. Why 22? Why those words? Each word is a verb because "to live" is an action—a verb. And nearly every other word imaginable can fall under one of those 22 words. For example, a word like "love" could literally have nearly a hundred definitions.

Why a stick? It was divinely inspired as a stick to Scott & Marla for many reasons. One, it has been cut off and is separate from a tree; it is humble. Second, it serves as a metaphor for the disconnection we feel from oneness. And finally, the vessel itself is a metaphor for our own vessel that needs to be filled with the things we need to become the best versions of ourselves; for example, Love, Faith, Trust, and Kindness.

We believe by choosing and inserting the words that are meaningful to us, at any given time, we are aligning with universal consciousness, which brings that intention to reality.

For some, it will be a beautiful addition to their spiritual path; for others it may become their path.  (For a full description of the Intention Stick, please visit https://www.intentionstick.org/activate)

We transform children.

The programming we deliver through our agency partners is designed to transform children's lives across the United States and abroad, from all walks of life from all religions and all backgrounds. Our core concept is that we are all one and we all have access to a universal consciousness --what many call the Creator. We believe that children can be cut off from that consciousness and the Intention Stick and what it represents (all religions all faiths) can reconnect them to that universal consciousness.

One or two of the 22 words of Intention are placed into the Intention Stick. Why 22? Why those words. Each word is a verb because "to live" is a verb. And nearly every other word can fall under one of those 22 words. For example, a word like "love" could literally have nearly a hundred definitions.

By inserting the words that are meaningful to us, perhaps signifying what we most desire, we believe that we unlock the power of human intention combined with our own individual spirituality to reconnect us to universal consciousness and to each other, because in the end, we are all one. That connection has the potential to heal the world.

The intention stick for children.

We first sought out a way to create an Intention Stick out of recycled materials in response to a growing request, but along the way, we realized the power that such a material could have. Elsewhere around the world, an Intention Stick made of metal could have a perceived value and, therefore, could be dangerous to the wearer. Through research, we found that silicon has no negative impact on the environment; it is sand-based and recyclable. Silicon is the seventh most abundant element in the universe and the second most abundant element in the earth's crust. The Silicon Intention Stick is age-appropriate and has a breakaway chain.
